The Nanasi is a fun style chosen by those who’d like to show off their hair more. The name is Kiswahili for pineapple so it is generally meant to be the wrap around your crown. Some people prefer it thinner and simply fold it in half before wearing. A fun look for your messy bow, braids, dreads, fro, and so on.
They are made from 100% cotton kitenge fabric and lined in satin.
Now you may have some questions … hopefully we’ll answer all if not most of them here:
- Will it fit me?
These are one size fits all. We have put elastic in key places to ensure a good fit.
- What are they made from
They are made from 100% cotton fabric and are lined in satin.
- I have loads of hair/ not too much hair
These allow you to wear your hair like a crown. Because they don’t cover your full head, your hair has plenty of room to spill over and play! 🙂
- Will it remain that way forever and ever?
It’s worry free. The wrap will always maintain its style – you won’t have to worry about it coming undone halfway through the day. It will also withstand many washes. The wear and tear will depend on how you care for it and also how often you use/wash it. Though we have clients who’ve had theirs for years and only come to buy more because they are tired of waiting for them to dry between washes! 🙂
- Can you ‘pull it off the look?’
if we had a dollar for every time someone thought they couldn’t and wound up being pleasantly surprised … let’s just say, we’d have many many dollars. These wraps are being enjoyed by people of all races, all ages and even genders! Yes, boys can wrap too! 🙂
- Is it hard to wear?
All you need to do is pop it on. Just like a hat. It’s an ingenious and easy way of adding some flavour to your every day look.
